This past week has been a crazy, fun week of birthdays! On Tuesday (the 22nd), we celebrated Nic's 25th birthday by going out to dinner at Benihana. Happy Birthday babe! You are the best husband and daddy a girl could ask for! Jacklynn worked very hard to show her daddy her love by making him a card with markers (notice her hands :))!

This was the first time she had been to Benihana and able to notice what was going on. The whole cooking of the food experience was very exciting to her!

Since Nic & Jac share the same birthday week, we decided to celebrate both birthdays while out to dinner.

The servers all sang to them a Japanese birthday song and made them both stand up and dance! Nic didn't do much of the dancing...just twisted Jacklynn around a bit! Notice in this pic that her balloon is over her eyes and jumper is up to her chin!! I think she enjoyed the dancing...

For Jacklynn's actual birthday (the 25th), we went to the Children's Museum. My sister, Jenni, was able to fly in to help us celebrate!

Its hard to believe that it has already been one year since Jacklynn was born. It has been amazing year of transition, change, excitement, and growth. I feel like we have learned a whole new definition of the word "responsibility." It is unbelievable the attention required by a baby, but even more astounding is the joy that attention and sheer exhaustion brings. I look forward to many years of celebrating Jacklynn's birth...what an amazing day that was! I love you baby girl!

Jacklynn's birthday party was on the 27th. We had a grand party up at my in-laws barn. The theme was snowflakes and it was a lot of fun!

My wonderful cake decorating skills were on display at the party...oh wait, not so much! But Jacklynn still enjoyed the "J" cake I created for her!

The singing of "Happy Birthday" was a little overwhelming, since there were about 65 people there!

She was a little unsure of the cake at first.

But then she started to enjoy it and even shared some with mommy!

Her new favorite "trick" is to lift up her hands as to say "SO BIG!" when you ask "How big is Jacklynn?" So, she showed everyone her skills in the middle of enjoying her cake!

I think she liked it!

Here is an after shot of the beautiful "J" cake!

Present time was a little overwhelming...esp. with so many helpers! All you could see of Jacklynn is her little hat sticking up amongst the kids!

She got lots of awesome presents that we are so excited for her to wear and play with!

My mom also decided last minute to come to the party all the way from Colorado Springs. We are so excited she came...and we had to get a picture of Jacklynn in the awesome outfit she bought her for the party!

Trying out the new motorcycle!

Thank you so much to all of you who were able to come! We appreciate you (and your gifts :)) so much! It is so awesome to have a support system of close family and friends! Your support, encouragment, and advice means the world to Nic and I! We love you all!
